We are currently looking for: Senior Data Engineer

Requirements:

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in cloud-native data solutions and Microsoft technologies to join a challenging project focused on building scalable, high-performance data platforms and analytics solutions.

Required Competencies:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on cloud-native solutions and data architecture
• Strong experience in end-to-end data architecture and design, including ingestion, data modelling, storage, and orchestration
• Experience with Medallion Architecture or similar data architecture patterns
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud data technologies, particularly:
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Synapse
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud and equivalent data services will also be considered
• Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing and Data Lake solutions, such as Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery or Amazon Redshift
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL and/or Spark
• Experience with Python data libraries such as Pandas, Boto3 or similar
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server or similar) and/or NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, GBQ or similar)
• Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience implementing data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale
• Ability to optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, cost, and reliability
• English proficiency – minimum B2

Soft Skills:

• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make clear and well-supported decisions
• Ability to communicate complex engineering decisions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring mid-level and junior engineers and promoting engineering standards and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to break down complex and ambiguous challenges into actionable solutions
• Ownership mindset and ability to anticipate issues and contribute to the long-term evolution of data platforms
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Location: Lisbon – Hybrid
Work Model: 2 days per week at the office and 3 days remote

Work Schedule:

Winter – October to May (43 hours/week):

• Monday to Thursday: 09:00 – 19:00
• Friday: 09:00 – 17:00

Summer – June to September (39 hours/week):

• Monday to Thursday: 09:00 – 18:00
• Friday: 09:00 – 17:00

The work schedule includes 12 additional Compensation Days, in addition to the standard holiday entitlement, distributed across Christmas/New Year, Easter, and Carnival periods.

Location: Lisbon, Hybrid

Gross salary range
€6,500–€7,000 monthly

Note: Includes all components: Fixed, Variable, Meal Allowance, Remote Work, and Benefits.
